A: If you’re looking for a material only quote. Please send us your roof dimensions along with a sketch, drawings, or photo’s, of your roof. We can then provide you with an itemised estimate for the material required to do the job.
Q: What thickness is metal roofing?
A: Our metal roofing is available in 29ga, 28ga, and 26 ga.
Q: What type of metal is used in metal roofing?
A: Pre-Painted Galvalume steel.
Q: What is the lead time when ordering a metal roof?
A: Our lead times vary throughout the year, but customers in Nova Scotia can expect to receive their roof within 2-5 days of placing their order.
Q: Do you deliver?
A: Yes, we deliver all of our metal roofing products throughout Nova Scotia. Special delivery options are available for orders over 35’ long and orders that require boom delivery.
Q: Will the metal panels rust on the cut edges?
A: The raw or cut edge will only rust if an abrasive cutting wheel or saw is used. There is a high zinc content in the metal panels. This inhibits progressive rusting on the edges of the steel, although some discoloration may occur.
Q: Do you manufacture your metal products?
A: Yes, we manufacture our metal roofing in our facility in Upper Sackville, Nova Scotia.
Q: Do you make custom trims?
A: Yes, we can make virtually any trim profile up to 21’ long. Contact us with your trim requirements and we can provide you with a free estimate.
Q: Do you require a deposit?
A: Yes, we require a 50% deposit to confirm your order. The balance is due upon pickup or before delivery.
Q: How do I pay for my metal roof?
A: We accept cash, credit, debit, e-transfer, certified cheque, and we also have a financing option through Financeit.
Q: Can I install a metal roof over my existing shingle roof?
A: In most cases, you can install a metal roof over existing shingles without the need for tear-oɬ or additional structural support. However, it’s important to consult with our team to ensure it’s the right choice for your specific situation.
Q: Do you make fascia metal?
A: Yes, we can make a variety of fascia metal profiles to suit your needs.
Q: Do you offer estimates?
A: Yes. Please provide us with a set of construction drawings, or a sketch of your roof/walls along with the dimensions and preferred colour and we can provide you with a free estimate.
Q: Can I walk on my metal roof?
A: Yes, but with caution. It’s important to know where to step and to wear soft-soled shoes to prevent any damage. If you need to walk on your roof, it’s recommended to consult with our professionals for guidance.
Q: Can I install the roof myself?
A: Yes. Provide us with the dimensions and details of your roof and we can provide you with all the materials needed to do it yourself. We recommend that you hire professionals if installation is beyond your abilities.

A: Metal roof panels are custom cut to the inch based on your project’s dimensions. Metal trim comes in standard 10’ lengths but can be custom ordered in lengths of 12’, 14’, 16’, 18’, and 20’.
Q: What happens if a standard trim size will not work for my project?
A: All our trims can be adjusted to suit your needs. Custom trim profiles are also an option.
Q: Can Metal roofing be installed during cold winter months?
A: Yes, unlike asphalt shingles metal roofing can be properly installed year-round.
Q: Does metal roofing react with pressure treated wood?
A: Yes, pressure-treated wood can react with metal roofing, causing corrosion and other issues.
Q: Will installing a metal roof close to the ocean affect my warranty?
A: Yes. Unfortunately, if your roof is installed in areas subject to direct salt water, marine atmospheres or to constant spraying of either salt or fresh water, 1500 feet (500 meters) or fewer feet from a salt-water environment, your roof will not be covered under warranty.
Q: How do you flash a brick chimney on a metal roof?
A: There is more than one way to properly flash a brick chimney. We manufacture the proper flashings to ensure a watertight seal around your chimney. Get in touch with us for further details.
Q: How do you flash a skylight on a metal roof?
A: We recommend using the skylight manufacturers metal roof flashing kits when possible (Example: Velux). In some situations, we will manufacture custom trims to ensure a watertight seal around your skylight.
Q: Do you accept returns?
A: Yes, we accept returns within 60 days of purchase on accessories and standard trims if they are un-opened and not damaged. We do not accept returns for custom trim or roofing and siding panels. Please verify that the contents of your order are correct before confirming your order.
